Introduction to the World Wide Web

The first step to fully understanding the world wide web is to first understand what it is not. The world wide web is not the internet, the internet is not the world wide web. The world wide web is to the internet what a car is to the road. 

The internet is a physical network of computers, connected together via wires and radio waves. A road is a physical network of towns and villages connect by tar and asphalt. The world wide web is bus that travels along the vast road network that is the internet.
